The material design and selection of carton are mainly white board paper, grey board paper, white card paper, mica paper, glass card paper, coated paper, cowhide card paper and corrugated paper. The principle of design is to consider the box's shape, size, weight to bear, appearance, grade, printing process and post-press processing.
1. Coated paper
Coated paper, also known as printing coating paper, this paper is coated with a layer of white paste on the base paper, after the pressure and made. Paper surface smooth, high whiteness, scalability is small, the absorption of ink and receiving state is very good. Mainly used for printing book covers and illustrations, color pictures, all kinds of exquisite commodity advertising, samples, commodity packaging, trademarks and so on. Matt coated paper, compared with coated paper, less reflective. The patterns printed with it, although not as bright as copperplate paper, but the pattern is more delicate than copperplate paper. The printed graphics and pictures have a three-dimensional sense, so this coated paper can be widely used to print pictorial, advertising, landscape painting, exquisite calendar, character photography, etc.
2, cardboard cardboard is the ideal material for making cartons, its good hand feel, ideal color and dot transfer conditions, as well as stiffness and surface strength are the reasons chosen by designers. According to the requirements of different boxes, designers can design a variety of cardstock.
(1) White card paper is characterized by high whiteness, soft luster, elegance, good dot transfer during printing, level and color reduction can reach a very high level, and feel delicate. Designers often use white card paper in gift boxes, makeup boxes, wine boxes, hangtags and other products.
(2) Glass cardstock is a kind of cardstock produced by glass treatment on the surface of white cardstock. The surface gloss of this paper is very high, and the feel is smooth. The visual effect is higher than the gloss of cardstock and coated paper after UV glazing. Designers often use glass cardboard in pharmaceutical and cosmetic boxes.
3. Board paper
Board paper is a laminated structure of paper, its quantitative 220g/m2,240g/m2,250g/m2...... 400g/m2,450g/m2, wide range, can choose a variety of materials large. This paper has stiffness and surface strength, especially because of the surface coating of whiteboard, printing ink is not easy to penetrate, less amount, printing image color and dot transfer is good. But the disadvantage is poor flatness, printing speed is slow; Another disadvantage is that the feel is obviously rough compared to the paper jam.
